Another Update

Hello! Long time, no post. As I mentioned, sometimes life get's busy. That is so true for our family.
Jocelynn is now ten years old. I am still a stay at home mom. Michael is working at Safeway. Myranda is now engaged to her high school sweetheart, Trent. They have a very nice apartment, in the valley.
Jocelynn is supposed to be in the fourth grade at Riverbend Elementary School. Because of her increase in Autism meltdowns, and self injurious behaviors, she has been out of school since the
middle of October. Before that, she was at school, not in the classroom so much, as walking in the playground, hitting her head against the school building and the ground, itself. The school district ordered a special helmet for her, that we are yet to see. Her school days were being cut. So, when her teacher fell ill, and was out on medical leave, we just has Jocelynn stay home, because the two DEC-C classes were combined. What a nightmare. They had no idea what they were doing, and we were not going to subject our daughter to that. We had a meeting with the school district, Or we tried to, and they had the idea of letting Jocelynn go swimming to get her used to the staff at her school, and then find a more suitable environment for her to learn. It is now, ending the month of February, and she is still swimming with the same lady and the same two ladies, driving her home from the pool. We are looking to set up another meeting for the middle of March. We will see how that goes. Michael and I have become very impatient, as we feel that Jocelynn's education has been swept under the rug by the school district. So, we are looking into disability law for some ideas. We feel like the school district has had plenty of time to figure out a safe place for Jocelynn to learn. We try to do what we can do at home, but Jocelynn thinks of home as a place to relax. She does have plenty of books, dvd's , games, and her I-pad, that have a lot of educational value. and she loves to learn. It really is a shame that the district has not utilized her potential. She is a very smart girl.

We wish she could go back to church, I think she would enjoy it. There are a lot of younger children there, and they tend to do a lot of screaming. We are not giving up. Michael is the adult Sunday school teacher, and I enjoy teaching the children's Sunday school class. It has been so much
of a blessing, and a learning experience for the both of us. I adore the kids in my class. They come from wonderful families, and these kids know their Bible stories! I love them all. They are ages from 4 years old to 12. Two girls from my class were baptized, this past weekend. I am so happy for them. One girl, that has turned 12, and will be going on to the teen class, was also baptized with her parents. So, we had 5 people baptized, this past Sunday! Praise The Lord! I wish I could have been there, but I stayed home with Jocelynn. I was so happy that Michael was able to attend.
Well, that is just a glimpse of some of the new things going on in the lives of the Boisvert Family. There is a lot more, but I had better go see what Jocelynn is up to. God bless you all. I will try to remember to write more soon.

OOPS, I did it again!

Was it 2012? It is so crazy how I let time and tasks get away from me. Jocie is now seven. Will start second grade and our Myranda is 21 and a working girl.  Jocie is still non verbal, but has a communication program to help her. Proloque2go is loaded on an i Pad for her. She has been going to speech and occupational therapy for a few years now. She goes to classes with kiddos with Autism, like herself. A smart and amazing kid!. Myranda has been living with her boyfriend and his family for a while. Both Myranda and Trent  are great Salmon fishermen.

As for Michael and I , we kind of had some hiccups in our marriage. We, along with friends and family have prayed and are continuing to pray that all will work out for the better. Sometimes it is easy to forget that marriage takes work. People give up too easy and want to just run out and divorce. I met Michael 28 years ago. I have loved him since.

Well, I won't keep any promises for this blog to keep updated. I will say that I will try.. May God bless you all.

Hi there!

 Busy, Busy, Busy!
Whew.. Jocie started school last week. She has been in the classroom allot more. Last year, they had her in the motor room. I hear that she has a special chair that she sits in at certain times of the school day. It is called a rifton chair. They say that she really loves it. We will have to see. the other kids in her class ask to sit in it. I am happy that she is around the others  more. We are going to be meeting a new DSP next week. The one gal that was doing it has gone back to school.

(rifton chair)

Myranda will be moving back to Juneau in October. look forward to learning if
She will be staying with us or if she will be staying with someone else. We are praying that
no matter what happens, she will continue to make good choices. She has really come a long way this year.

I found this on Jocelynn's school website...Wanted to share it ,,

I’M SPECIAL

 I’m special...
In all the world there’s nobody like me.
Nobody has my smile.
Nobody has my nose, hair, or voice.
I’m special...
No one laughs like me or cries like me.
No one sees things just as I do.
No one reacts just as I would react.
I’m special...
I’m the only one in all creation who has my set of abilities.
My unique combination of gifts, talents, and abilities
are an original symphony.
I’m special...
And in all my rarity there is great value.
I need not imitate others.
I will accept --yes celebrate my differences.
I’M SPECIAL!!!

Wow, I lied!

So, I lied.... I said I was going to keep this up,,Psh, Yeah right.... It seems that whenever I have good intentions, they go out the door. I have alot of projects that I buy the materials for and never start. I always use the excuse that my family keeps me busy. I can't use that anymore.. Well, enough of coming down on myself!. Time for an update!:

Wow. The past year has brought more changes for the Boisvert family. Michael is out of the military...Myranda went to treatment in Ketchikan...The treatment was more for behavioral.... She is now living and working there. She will be moving back here, to Juneau for the winter. Jocelynn was officially diagnosed with Autism. We finally went to Anchorage and had her seen by the neurodevelopmental specialist and the only pediatric neurologist in Alaska. She is still non verbal and will be getting extra speech and occupational therapy, aside from what she will be getting at school. She will be starting her second year of preschool on Tuesday...As for me; I am trying to keep up with all of them...Will not promise to keep up my blog. Just will try..I am a work in progress. Love and blessings to all!
