Well, it is a very quiet night at our home. Michael and Jocelynn have been asleep for a couple of hours. Time to get up to speed on the blog. Some new things happened. Jocie is in the process of starting preschool. Michael and I have met the teacher. Monday, Jocie will meet her and the occupational therapist. Not sure if the sppech therapist will be there or not.
A few weeks ago, the head neurodevelopmental specialist at Providence hospital in Anchorage came to Juneau. He met with us and said it would be in Jocie's best interest if we went to Anchorage for further testing. So, now we are hoping to get it all completed by November.
She has a great respite care provider named Alma. She just is so wonderful to Jocie..She takes her all kinds of places and has way more energy than Michael and I put together...Jocie just is so happy when she comes.
Myranda is doing good in school. I am proud of her. She will probably never move back home. I am learning to accept that. I think.... She is so much like me,at that age. I guess that is why I am more understanding. She will turn out just fine. She is one of those people who wants to learn things her own way, in her own time. I respect that..

Lucky
I am feeling pretty lucky today. Blessed is a better word. I have lived in Juneau since 2002. Before that, Myranda and I were living in Reno. We moved up here to get out of the women's shelter we were living in. My mother had found that we were placed there after my boyfriend, at that time, was sentenced to three years for physical abuse. I was still afraid to leave my apartment, even though he was behind bars. I know he had friends watching me all the time.
I am lucky because my mother had sent us plane tickets to Juneau. When we got here, it was not even a week and I had my first job. Then, I was given a scholarship to get my CNA licence. I also started to work at WFC. I loved it. Everything was falling into place. Even got me and Myranda our own place to live..
In 2007 Michael came back into my life. We had not seen or spoken to each other in 16 years. ( You can find almost anyone thanks to Internet! ).
Now, we are happily married, have our two beautiful girls, a home, and a great church family..
I sometimes wonder how the other women, that was in the shelter, are doing. If they broke the cycle of abuse and learned to love themselves. I do pray for them and hope are all okay. Yup! I am lucky!

Orange ya glad?
I am not sure why Jocelynn loves the color orange. Her favorite toys are orange and so are her favorite foods. Mandarin oranges, cheese, and whale crackers... Tigger, well, you can see where I am going with this. It makes me crazy sometimes with all of her little "Jocie quirks"..Other times I can't help but smile.. Jocie does not eat with a fork or a spoon yet and we had her speech therapist over to observe her eating habits. We tried to give her green beans...They ended up on the floor along with the corn and elbow macaroni. The I got her sliced cheese out of the fridge..A nice light orange cheese. She was all the sudden hungry. She even ate a piece or two with a fork. I think it was an orange fork..

I knew it!
W Well, I do this every time...I have a real hard time not getting sidetracked. I started this with the intention of keeping it up. I used to do this with diaries when I was younger. Allot has happened so I had better say what....
First off, My oldest moved out in April. No, I am not happy about it and I won't bore you with the details.
Jocelynn has done some genetic testing to find out what is going on with her. All tests are coming back negative. So, against my hopes, we are not going to send her to Seattle children's for further testing, for the time being.. Doctor wants to see what happens once she starts preschool in the fall.
Michael has been forced into early retirement from the military..He is not happy about that...
Now, I don't want you o get the idea that nothing good has been happening for the Boisvert family..God is always blessing us..Michael's parent's came here in late June and spent a week with us. It was allot of fun. Myranda started a job at Fred Meyer's, and loves it...and...I am completely healed from that crazy accident I was in..God is good....
Now to see how long it takes for me to post again....

Thursday
Okay, it is Thursday morning here. 9:35. I am sitting in the front room while Jocie is watching " Jack's Big Music Show" in her play yard. Myranda left for school almost an hour ago. Michael is asleep.
The gals from the Infant Learning Program will be here at noon. They come twice a week to work with Jocelynn. There is a behavior and speech therapist. Jocelynn may have Autism. She will have a diagnosis later next month. She turned two in November and is not talking. I am not sure why. She was before. She used to say,"Mommy","Daddy", "Sissy", "Kitty" ,and"Good girl`".. She doesn't say any of that now.
Jocie also is very particular about the way she plays, eats, sleeps..If her routine is, in any way thrown off, she let's you know that she is not happy about it. We do not take her to Stores or restaurants because it is too much going on. She opts for familiar, quiet surroundings ans people. Her favorite place to go is church. We have about six families that attend, so It is okay with her. It also helps that she is the youngest one there. She is never starved for attention.
Lately, my days have been filled with doctors appointments, so it is kinda nice that It is now almost ten and I am still in my pajamas. On January 20th, I was in a car accident. It is weird how it happened. I ended up with infected hematoma and cellulitus. It is in my left upper thigh. So I had an incision made in my leg and they got everything "Bad" out. I then spent three days in the hospital. For five days after that, I would go up to the hospitals PT department. where they would clean the wound and pack it up with more gauze. Then, on Friday, they gave me the wound vac. This is what the unit looks like
Cute huh? I have the unit in a purse type bag that I carry around EVRYWHERE I go. I do get to disconnect it to take a shower. They think I will need it for about a month. This is a photo of my cute purse:

and this is my leg:

I am actually healing pretty good and with the wound vac, I can do more than with the bandages. so I am really happy about that.

Elvie
~And this piece of work is our cat, Elvis. He (she) thinks he is people. We found out that Elvis is a girl and my Husband is in total denial about it. Elvis loves everyone in the house but me. The only time this cat pays attention to me is when I am going towards the garage where we keep his food..This cat loves to lay at the foot of mine and Michael's bed and I am always kicking him/her off. I do love this cat though..
Mikey
This is my Husband, Michael. I met him when I was 17 years old. I will save the story for a later date. He is the best Daddy in the world! He is an o.k Husband too! He works very hard. He is also the most patient man in the world. He has to be to be married to someone like me. He is extremley smart, The king of movie and historic trivia. He can look at an actor and tell you if they were in the US Marines. He is my bestest friend. I am lucky to have such a great guy by my side...

" Bertabert"
This lil' stinker is our Jocelynn. A.k.a Bertabert.. I thought I would introduce you all to her first. As she is the youngest of the Boisvert clan. Jocelynn is two years old. She loves Daddy, The Wiggles, looking at picture books, putting everything in her mouth, whale crackers, and warm milk... Oh there are lot's more. That's a good start though.
Jocie has been recently working with some specialists with the Infant Learning Program. Twice a week, We have a behavioral specialist who comes to our house. With her is usually a speech therapist or a occupational therapist. The reason for this is because at about one year, our Jocie stopped talking and doing alot of the things that she had already learned. So, we will talk more about that as I write more.
Jocie is a miracle baby as far as we are concerned. She has the most wonderful laugh. She really is our gift from God....
